Easily Remove Vomit From Your Carpet

While it's never a nice thought, there are going to be times where you will need to clean vomit from your carpet. So get some old gloves, put a peg on your nose, and let Fairbanks Cleanpro show you how to deal with it.

What you will need to remove vomit:

  • Spoon
  • Paper towel
  • Vinegar
  • Water
  • Dishwashing detergent
  • Spray bottle
  • Baking Soda

Remove Excess Vomit From Your Carpet

Using a spoon, carefully lift off any excess vomit from your carpet. Be careful not to scrape your carpet as this can spread the stain. Now, gently press the area using paper towel to absorb any remaining vomit.

Cleaning Solution to Remove Vomit

Using your spray bottle, mix in vinegar, dishwashing detergent and enough water to allow you to shake it until it foams slightly. Focusing on small parts at a time, spray the cleaning solution on to the stain. Using paper towel, press on the stain thoroughly to soak the solution into the carpet and lift the stain. Repeat this until the entire stain has been removed.

Removing a Vomit Smell From Your Carpet

Using the baking soda, sprinkle it over the cleaned area to lift out any stains that may be left behind. Once the area has been covered, leave it for about 15 minutes to really let it remove smells from the root of your carpet. After 15 minutes, simply vacuum the area!

Final Step to Removing a Vomit Stain

The only thing left to do now is sit back and let it dry. To help ensure all moisture is removed from your carpet, open any windows and doors to promote air flow through your home and around the newly cleaned area.
