You may ask yourself  “How on earth that ink ended up in my carpet?” Well, you shouldn’t be surprised about all the things that could happen, as you know your carpet is prone to mishaps, especially if you have kids or pets.

This accident shouldn’t worry you too much, that’s why here at Cleanpro in Fairbanks we created a quick guide to get rid of that ink stain with products that you most likely find in your home!

This Is How You Deal With An Ink Stain

Act Fast!

It’s important that you start cleaning the minute after you noticed the spill, otherwise the stain will settle. You will need alcohol, a clean cloth, hot water, vinegar and your vacuum cleaner.

Blot

Put some alcohol in your cloth and blot the stain, remember than you should never rub your carpet, this will harm the fibers and that’s an irrepairable damage. Also always start cleaning the edge of the stain and work your way to the center in a clockwise movement.

Let It Work

For alcohol to do its magic you will need to repeat the last step and don’t be afraid to use your cloth several times. This may take awhile but don’t let this discourage you!

Avoid Damage

So now that most of the ink is gone, it’s time to mix half a cup of vinegar and half a cup of warm water. This solution will help to rinse the alcohol and give it back some of the texture to your carpet fibers.

Just as New

Use your vacuum cleaner to remove the remaining moisture and after it’s completely dry remember to fluff the fibers with your fingers.

As you can see getting rid of that ink stain from carpet is easy, just make sure to act quick! If this method didn’t work it’s time to call the professionals.
